A Poinsettia Christmas

Hi everyone,

for our October Stamp-A-Stack class we made three cards.  This is the first one.  It's so simple but elegant.

As I mentioned in class, it takes longer to cut all the paper than it does to put it together. We used the Reason for the Season stamp set, which premiered last year as a bundle with the Poinsettia punch.

The easiest way to put this card together, is to cut all the card pieces out and then put it together, in my humble opinion.  But always do what works best for you.

Dimensions:

Real Red cardstock:
Card base 8.5 x 5.5, scored at 4.25
Middle layer, 5 x 3.75
Top layer 3.75 x 2.25

Whisper White cardstock:
5.25 x 4
4.75 x 3.5
3.5 x 2

We used an 8" piece of white ribbon and one rhinestone.

Stamp the poinsettia background on the 4.75 x 3.5  Whisper White cardstock in a random pattern.  Then stamp the sentiment on the smallest white layer.  Since this is a photopolymer stamp set we used the Stampin' Pierce Mat as a base under the card stock, with a piece of scrap paper protecting the mat.  This will give your image a sharper image.

Using Snail, affix the largest white layer to the card base, then affix the poinsettia layer to the largest red layer, then affix this to the card base.  Affix the sentiment layer to the smallest red layer.  Then with Dimensionals affix this to the card at an angle.

Tie a bow with the ribbon, I had some left over ribbon that I wanted to use up. Attach the bow to the card with a glue dot and then set a rhinestone on top of the bow.

Voila!  You are done!
