First Frost - Double Z Fold Card

Image
This third card was our most complicated, or involved card that we made for our January class called a Double Z Fold.   We used the First Frost stamp set, which was also carried over from our 2018 Holiday catalog.  In the Holiday catalog it was offered as a bundle.  This is a beautiful stamp and die set!  I'm thrilled Stampin' Up! carried it over. TIP on bundles:  They are offered as bundles in the initial catalog.  If it is carried over or in subsequent catalogs, they will no longer be offered as bundles.  If you like the bundle get it right away and save yourself 10% and a little heartache! Trust me I know! The base is Soft Sea Foam, cut to 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 2-3/4" x 5-1/2"  You can use your Stampin' Trimmer or the Scoring Tool for scoring. This is then embossed with our Quilt Top embossing folder. You will emboss one end and then the other. I would score first and then emboss, the paper might te...

December Stamp-A-Stack, Uffda!

If you read my previous post I mentioned that I prepared for 3 classes in two days.  My Tuesday evening class back to back with my Stamp-a-Stack, which is usually the next week. We made 3 cards, four of each.  And boy oh boy you could tell I was a little off my game. These are the cards we made.     It all started with this card.  When I cut the black piece on the bottome I cut it the right depth, 2" but only 4" instead of 5-1/2".  So, no problem, we switch the card to portrait instead of landscape and everything was hunky dory.  We used the Winter Wonder embossing folder on the Whisper White top layer.  The black layer is Merry Music DSP.  The sentiment is from  October Paper Pumpkin, "Pining for Plaid" stamp set and punch with the "Everyday Label" punch.  The Basic Black back layer is 3" x 2" and both ends are punch with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. The ribbon joining both layers is the 1/8" Silver ...

Stampin' Up! Christmas Quilt Bundle

Image
Hi everyone, I know it's been a long time since I've posted.  Had a lot going on in my life lately with some health issues and dealing with them has been challenging. But getting the new Holiday Catalog has so many great new products and has thankfully been a wonderful distraction. One of which is this awesome Christmas Quilt Bundle! I've been getting ready for my Catalog Launch Party this Saturday, Sept 9.  My great friend, Michelle, came over last Saturday, we both needed some stamp therapy and she made a couple Christmas card with this bundle.  So I decided to do a non holiday card! I have a cousin who makes beautiful quilts and runners.  So this will probably be her birthday card. I did have one little tip for you.  When you use the star Framelit, that does the stitching, make sure that you run this one through the Big Shot first. (I called this the Ninja Star since that what it reminds me of).  To create the star you will need a 4"...
