High Tide - Hope

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by!

Here's another one of my favorite products from the 2017 Occasions Catalog, well actually two!  One is the High Tide stamp set with the beautiful sentiments, sure to give anyone's day a lift, and the other is the new Watercolor Pencils that Stampin' Up! has come out with.  I understand that they had another set previously, before I became a demo.  I do have the Wondercolor Wonder crayons that were retired a while ago.

I have a cousin that loves lighthouses!  So I thought, perfect for her next birthday!  Plus this will go well with a couple other sets that I have.

I love that we have sea gulls two ways, in the air and on the beach.

After I stamped lighthouse with Lost Lagoon (retired), I colored the left side with the Slate Gray colored pencil then used my Aqua Painters to blend the colors.

With the Watercolor pencils you can color them in the traditional way, or, as I did, use the Aqua Painters to blend the colors.  You can also use the Aqua Painter directly on the pencil and then color your stamped item that way.  It may give you a little more intensity in color.  If you want the colors darker, after it dries, go over it again with your pencil and then your Aqua Painter but be careful if you are using Whisper White so it doesn't get too wet.

I like the muted colors on this, they to me, seem soothing for someone who may be hitting a few rough spots in lift.

I used a little Linen Thread wrapped around the banner.  The banner is punched with the Triple Banner punch and the sentiment is also stamped in Lost Lagoon.

Here's a little video I put together making the card. Hope you enjoy it!

In a video that I will be posting in the near future, I will show the difference between using the water pencils  on  Whisper White cardstock, Shimmer paper and Watercolor paper.

Would love to hear how you like this.

Here's a list of the supplies.  Sorry I can't post the photos of the new items from the Occasions catalog, I will after it goes live.  Meanwhile you will have the item number and the name.

Supplies:
The DSP I used, By the Sea, and Lost Lagoon card base and light house/sentiment ink are all retired.

Balloon Adventures and Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while.  I think I got a little burned out from all the card making for Christmas. I hope you all had a blessed Christmas.

I spent Christmas Eve with my daughter and her family.  It was nice to be able to have dinner, hang out and go to Christmas Eve services with them.  There's been a bit a drama at my church, which I won't go into, suffice it to say a lot of people left our church.  I'm hoping when there is a new pastor to go back.

It warmed my heart to see my oldest grandson who is 10 singing his heart out to all the Christmas songs and have #2, who is 6, sit on my lap the whole service.  #3 was in the nursery.

So back to the subject.  January 4 our 2017 Occasions catalog goes live and along with that the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  If you are not familiar with this offering, for every $50 purchased from the Occasions catalog you can pick one free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This goes from January 4 to March 31.

One of the items that I pre-ordered from the Occasions catalog was called Balloon Adventures.  And it is an adventure just playing with this. I again bought the bundle, and the Thinlits are what sold me on this set.  There are soooooo many things you can do with it.  Also, this bundle pairs great with the Balloon Celebrations stamp set and the Balloon Bouquet punch.  I love, love, love it when I can mix and match, and expands my possibilities for making cards!

Here's the card that I made:

Oh, I forgot to mention one of the main things that attracted me to the Thinlit set, it was the POP-OUT!!!!!!

My #2 grandson, loves interactive cards!  So I know he will love this!  I have made a video showing how I made this card and I also go into a little about the awesome things that this bundle can do.  But, Stampin' Up! has done a much better job of doing it.  So, grab a cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa, sit back and watch Stampin' Up!'s video on this amazing bundle.

I was so excited to get going on this I forgot to do my stamping ahead of time and one of the things I could have stamped but didn't on the pop-up was the streamers coming from the balloon.  I could have also added some Baker's Twine to the balloons on the side panels.  Well, there's always next time!

I hope you like this.  I would love to hear your comments on how you like this bundle or on my little offering.

Here's a list of the supplies that you can purchase, January 4 or after and a link to my store. I appreciate your patronage!  Without my wonderful customers I would not be able to do this!  Also, watch for a give away coming in another video.

Cookie Sheet of Gingerbread people - Cookie Cutter Christmas

Hi Stampers!

When I saw this card I just fell in love with it, it's so adorable!  But I'm a little prejudice, the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set is one of my favorite.  I think I've used it more than any other set this season.

Once you have all the pieces precut out, it goes together very quickly.  These would make great invitations to a Christmas party too!

The DSP is, again, my favorite out of the catalog, Candy Cane Lane.  I should have stocked up on it, now the supply is all out and I'm not able to get anymore. Sniff, sniff...

The strip on the side is 4" x 2" of DSP, your choice.  The bottom layer of the cookie sheet is Smokey Slate, 3-1/4" x 2-1/2", the silver foil piece is 3" x 2-1/4". I adhered these together with some Snail.  The handles of the cookie sheet are punched out with the 3/4" circle punch and adhered to the bottom of the Smokey Slate with a glue dot.

I stamped the gingerbread people on Crumb Cake with Soft Suede, you could also use Crumb Cake.  I like my gingerbread men a little darker.  I then punched them out with the coordinating Gingerbread punch.

The bow tie is punched out with the Gingerbread punch, from some gold glitter paper I had, gold foil would also work well here.  The bow in the lady's hair is punched from a scrap of Real Red with the Gingerbread punch.  The heart is also punched out of a scrap of Real Red with the Heart border punch.  These pieces are then attached with glue dots to the gingerbread people. Then I attached some rhinestones to the bow and the buttons on the lady.

The gingerbread people are attached to the cookie sheet with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Real Red.  You can almost put this card together faster than I can type the directions!  Ha ha!

Here's a little video on how fast it went together!

Supplies can be purchased at my store Shop here: Don't wait, supplies are limited. Buy the bundles now, if the stamp sets and punch return next year, they probably won't be bundled and they are discounted when bundled.
