Sand & Sea Suite: Playing with the full card die

I must say that when I first got the new 2021 January - June Mini catalog the Sand & Sea Suite was my favorite.  I love the beach and all things related, especially this time of year in Minnesota.  I long to return to my favorite places in Florida and just smell the salt air, feel the sun on my face and eat fresh oranges.  Collecting shells was always a favorite pastime, while walking on the soft beach sand.

This beautiful full card die of shells and sea weed has so many possibilities for creative ideas, especially paired with the beautiful Pearlescent paper in the suite. Here is another link to the video if the video doesn't show up on your mobile device.

The card dimensions are:
Very Vanilla 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4.
Sahara Sand: 5-7/16" x 4-3/16
Sand & Sea DSP: 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
Pearlescent Specialty Paper: 5-1/2 x 4-1/4

Supplies can be purchased at my store

Make Today Ridiculously Awesome!

I usually try to personalize all my birthday cards towards hobbies, interests, etc. and I struggle with masculine birthday cards, especially for my son.

He's an Army veteran, has a degree from Le Cordon Bleu in pastry and loves video games (classic and current) and playing guitar. But when it comes to a card for him, I'm often stumped.  His birthday is coming up this week and I decided to go with something more neutral  "Ridiculously Awesome" . A fun stamped set designed by one of our Million Dollar Sales demonstrators Ronda Wade.  If you've never checked out her FB page "Creating for Christ" I encourage you to do so.

This is a pretty simple card.  I did delve into some of my retired stash and used some rivets that I inherited with a "lot" of Stampin' Up!© items I purchased from a retiring demonstrator before becoming one myself.  I also received a Crop-a-dile, in that stash,  that Stampin' Up! used to carry.  I may do a video on this, for those of you who also may have this in your stash of tools.

These rivets actually matched one of our new In Colors "Misty Moonlight".  I used some of the 6 x 6 In Color DSP. One side has a wood texture look to it and the other has words, all in another language.  I thought he might enjoy trying to figure out what it says.

The sentiment layer and background layers are die cut with the "Rectangle Stitched dies"  and then popped up with Dimensionals.

The inside is stamped with a saying by A. A. Milne from our "Rustic Retreat" stamp set "You Are Braver Than You Believe, Stronger Than You Seem, Smarter Than You Think and Loved More Than You Know" (emphasis mine) It's a great masculine stamp set. I also used the Happy Birthday from the stamp set.

I hope the simplicity of this card inspires you too.  If you are interested in a video on the use of a Crop-A-Dile I'd love to hear that in the comments.

Arrange A Wreath: Valentine

Today's "Tuesdays At Two"  Facebook Live features the "Arrange A Wreath" stamp set and the coordinating "Wreath Builder dies".  I had planned on using this for the January Zoom class but it was so popular that it was on backorder until the end of December!  Since I needed to place my order before that, it had to forego that idea. :-(

I love that you can use this for four different holidays and throughout the year.  There are some beautiful cards out there on Pinterest using this duo. Since Valentine's day is not too far off, I opted for a Valentine card.

Today is the kickoff of our new January - June Mini catalog as well as Sale-a-bration!  The paper that I die cut the wreath, hearts and bow is from the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalog "Oh So Ombre".  I love this paper with it's Ombre colors on one side and bubbles on the other.

The bow and hearts are cut from the same sheet of paper, just from different parts of the shading.

I didn't want just a plain background so I used the "Bricks & Mortar" 3D embossing folder, it gives this card such a homey/country/cottagey feel.

I hope you like this card too. Here's the video from today's FB Live. If the video does not show up on your mobile device click here.
