SAB Springtime Foils for Amazing You! March Card #3

The third card we made in class is a beautiful card, and I say that not because I'm vain it's because I CASE'd it from Rachel Tessman, a fellow Minnesotan & demonstrator who makes the most beautiful cards.  One of my ladies said she thought it was the most beautiful card we have made in class.

It's simple, easy and elegant especially with the use of the gorgeous foil papers, this one with copper on white, from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  (There are only a few days left to be able to select this free with a qualifying order)  This card also uses the Amazing You stamp set, also from the Sale-a-bration catalog.

The base of the card is Peekaboo Peach.  This color will be waving bye-bye at then end of May, so if this is one of your favs, stock up soon on paper, ink and re-inker.

The base layer is Whisper White as is the sentiment.  The foil layer was sponged in Lemon Lime Twist (my favorite green and I'm not a green person), Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, in that order from top to bottom.  Make sure after the sponging of each color that you take a tissue and wipe off that area to remove color from the foil dots.  It would not be a good thing to give this to someone and have them get ink all over their hands.  :-(

There is a Copper Foil scalloped circle that beautifully accents the white sentiment circle against the Springtime Foils Specialty paper.  Just think of all the possibilities with this beautiful DSP!  Just perfect for sponging!  There are 3 other patterns in this package.

Rachel had a great idea for the sponges too that I "borrowed" (hehe).  I took my Label Pretty punch (you could use any similar punch) and punched out a piece of cardstock from each of the 4 colors of ink that I used.  Folded the pieces in half and stapled one to each of the sponges.  This was a super easy way to keep the sponges on the right stamp pads and not mix up the colors, especially during class.

TIP 1: If you have never used our sponges before they come 3 in a pack.  Cut each sponge in 6 pieces, so you have little pie shaped sponges.  This makes it the perfect size to sponge with.

TIP 2: When adhering anything to foil papers I would recommend using Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape.  It sticks better on those slippery little foil sheets. (I don't recommend Multipurpose Glue, if you are like me just a little on the foil smears and looks.....not good)

TIP 3: When die cutting your foil on the Big Shot, make sure that you have a nice smooth plate on the top.  Any little imperfection will leave a mark on your foil,
