February Stamp Class Card #2: Sweet Soirée Suite Wedding Card

I have a good friend who likes to come to the class to socialize and make cards, she's not interested in making cards on her own and that's fine.  It's a time for us to catch up. From time to time I ask her if there is a card she needs  for something coming up or would like to make.  She told me she had a wedding coming up so we made this card in class.

I love it when the stamp set has both an outside sentiment and a matching inside sentiment as in the  Sweet Celebrations stamp set.  The Cake Soirée has some beautiful sentiments for the inside as well as the outside.

Two of the sentiments "Happy Birthday" and "Celebrate", in the Cake Soirée stamp set, have little lines coming out of the bottom of the stamp to represent  the little stake that is used to insert it into the cake.  So dang cute!

The Cake Soirée stamp set is from the Suite Soirée Suite. I absolutely love this Suite from the 2018 Occasions catalog!

What make it a Suite?  It not only has the stamp and Framelit bundle, but a suite of products that coordinate beautifully.  They include:

  • Adorable 3/8" Berry Burst metallic edged ribbon #145489
  • Gorgeous DSP (Designer Series Paper) #145564
  • An assortment embellishments in the Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit #145578
  • Sweet Soirée Decorative masks for embossing with embossing paste (wonderful on the cake)  #145643
  • Embossing paste (2 colors silver &a shimmery white) #145645 Shimmery White, #145646 Silver
  • Sweet Soirée Ready Shreddie paper to stuff in the gable boxes (also part of the suite) #145662
  • Silver Mini Gable Boxes (#145568)

When using intricate Framelits, like the cake plate and bow, I applied the Multipurpose Adhesive sheet on the back of the Silver Foil before I die cut it. (I'm kinda messy with glue on tiny things)  That way when I have adhesive on it all I have to do is peel off the paper and place it where I want it.

I've found when doing intricate dies, like the cake plate, if I run it through the Big Shot a couple times I'm assured of clean cut. If there are any little pieces left after using the Big Shot Brush, I use my paper piercing tool to poke them out.

The cake itself, and the sentiment are popped up with Dimensionals. The cake design is stamped in Smokey Slate and the sentiment, outside and inside is stamped in Basic Gray.
