Brusho Techniques Class

Image
Yesterday I held my first Techniques class, we started with a NEW fun product from Stampin' Up!, Brusho! These are little pots of color crystals that when the come in contact with water, activate and move around an gorgeous colors.  The colors are not Stampin' Up! colors but they do pair beautifully with our colors.   I would recommend using either Watercolor Paper or Shimmer Paper.  Also when affixing it to your card/card layers, I would use either Tear & Tape or Fast Fuse, since your paper will warp a bit and this will give you a better finished product. We tried 3 different applications.   EMBOSSING RESIST & SPRINKLING 1ST This effect was achieve by sprinkling the paper with the blue, yellow and red Brusho crystals.   Before taping the watercolor paper down.  Emboss your image first.  We used clear, white or iridescent  embossing powder. We taped the paper to some inexpensive cutting boards that...

Lots of Lavendar, Springtime Foils & Happy Wishes

Image
Hi All, hope you are all having a tremendous week.  We are finally getting some sunshine and it's melting our huge piles of snow!  Thank you God!  This week in Stamp-a-stack we made 2 cards from the Sale-a-bration Catalog and one from the Occasions catalog.  Just a reminder the Sale-a-bration offerings end this weekend, March 31. LOTS OF LAVENDER I love the simple muted colors of this stamp set.  It also lends itself beautifully to using the Stamparatus!    The card base is Wisteria Wonder as is the Lavender image.  The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzaz with a little Linen Thread embellishing it.  It's hard to see the bows on the flower stems, that are stamped in So Saffron.  I used the Duet Banner punch for the sentiment and background banner.  I love this sweet sentiment from the Watercolor Wings stamp set.  Our second card also uses a Sale-a-bration item, the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP! Such gorgeous ...

SAB Springtime Foils for Amazing You! March Card #3

The third card we made in class is a beautiful card, and I say that not because I'm vain it's because I CASE'd it from Rachel Tessman, a fellow Minnesotan & demonstrator who makes the most beautiful cards.  One of my ladies said she thought it was the most beautiful card we have made in class. It's simple, easy and elegant especially with the use of the gorgeous foil papers, this one with copper on white, from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  (There are only a few days left to be able to select this free with a qualifying order)  This card also uses the Amazing You stamp set, also from the Sale-a-bration catalog. The base of the card is Peekaboo Peach.  This color will be waving bye-bye at then end of May, so if this is one of your favs, stock up soon on paper, ink and re-inker. The base layer is Whisper White as is the sentiment.  The foil layer was sponged in Lemon Lime Twist (my favorite green and I'm not a green person), Peekaboo Peach, P...

Happy Birthday Butterfly! March Card 2 - Using the Stamparatus

Image
So excited to use my newest tool from Stampin' Up!™ , The Stamparatus!   It is great for 2 or 3 step stamping or repetitive stamping. Couldn't wait for my ladies to get a chance at it. I chose the Watercolor Wings butterfly stamp set.  LOVE this set!  I've seen so many beautiful butterflies made with this. But it is especially fun to use with the Stamparatus, since each butterfly has 3 stamps to complete it (4 if you count the body). It really showcases the abilities of the Stamparatus. It was a pretty simple card, especially when getting to play with the new toy!  If you are not familiar with the Stamparatus, it has 4 surfaces to put stamps on.  Two plates, one on the left and one on the top that are removable so you can flip them around.  We used a template to place the butterfly in.  I took a piece of white cardstock and die cut the butterfly.  Then placed it on the base of the Stamparatus, holding it in place with the two...
