Jar of Cheer Gift Tags

Image
Thought I'd play around with  my Jar of Cheer stamp set today to see if my idea of gift tags would work.  I also used the Jar of Love Stamp bundle.   Here's the final product.  I used the medium jar stamp from the Jar of Love stamp set and the corresponding Framelit.  Using a piece of cardstock 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 folded in half, I stamped the Jar in Mossy Meadow.  The gingerbread man is from the retired stamp set Scentsational, the candies are from Candy Cane Lane stamp set and the rest are from the Jar of Cheer. The gingerbread man is stamped in Crumb cake, the others are stamped in Cherry Cobbler except the snowman, he's stamped in Basic Gray and colored with Cherry Cobbler, and some retired markers that I had.  You can't see it but I also used a bit of Wink of Stella on him.  The jar rings are stamped in Cherry Cobbler also.  Oh the little bow tie on the gingerbread man is from the Snow Place stamp set. When I...

Black and White Sympathy, etal

Image
Last Tuesday was our regular monthly stamp club.  This was the first time we tried a 3D project.  Last month I had shared with them the ones I was working on for the craft fair and asked it they would be interested in trying to do something like that.  They were eager to try so the one they picked out was on of my Milk Carton/Baker's Box projects. Milk Carton/Baker's Box I created an instruction sheet for the Milk Carton and if I could figure out how to upload a pdf file to my blog I would post that for you too.  In the meantime, if you are interested in having it, send me an email and I will email it back to you.  We also made two cards, a black and white sympathy card using the Detail Floral Thinlet dies and a cute Get Well card using the Weather Together bundle.    Weather Together Bundle "Wishing you brighter days"   Black & White Sympathy with Detail Floral Thinlet, Butterfly Basics  (butterfly) and Te...

Woodland Textures and Wonderland trees

Image
I love the technique of the illusion of the pine trees from the Wonderland stamp set behind the birch trees on the Woodland Textures embossing folder.  I don't know how many different variations of this technique I have pinned on my Pinterest boards. Is it because I'm from Minnesota that I love the pine trees?  There aren't as many where I live, in the metro area, as there are in the northern part of the state. When you travel to the north there is almost a definite line where they start appearing.  I love the fresh smell of them when traveling the roads  up there.  Before I retired, I worked for the Minnesota DNR and so many of our conservation officers/game wardens go into the program with the hope of one day getting a station in the northern part of the state.  Who can blame them!  It is beautiful! In my video I show the technique that works for me.  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.   ...

Starlight Framelits

As I was making this I had a DUH! moment.  I was so excited about something I discovered, but then realized that because I'm blonde and a senior citizen it took a little bit for the "bulb" to go on.  I love this bundle, not only for the stamps and variety but because of the sentiments.  Being a Christian it is sometimes hard to find sentiments that represent my values and feelings.  Stampin' Up! does a very nice job providing these in their stamp sets.  Here's a little video I put together with my "discovery" :-) Supplies used in this video: Star of Light Bundle #143508 Night of Navy #100867 Silver Embossing Powder #109131 Whisper White Cardstock #10073     Silver Foil Paper #132178 Heat Tool #129053 Versa Mark Pad #102283 Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper #135315 Big Shot #143263  If you do not have a demonstrator I wo...

Scentsational Cocoa Card

Image
Had to use this adorable retired Stampin' Up! set called Scentsational for this cocoa filled card for one of my craft fair projects.  The only thing it is missing right now are the  candy canes, which haven't appeared in the stores yet.  Well let's hope not it's only September, we have to get through all the Halloween candy that is making it's way to the store shelves and then we have Thanksgiving!  Even though I am making Christmas items, I like to enjoy each holiday as it comes, without it be infringed upon by the next one that is off in the future.  I know I'm fighting a losing battle, all I can do is avoid those aisles.  Well, enough of that.  Here is my "Scentsational" Cocoa Card.  As you can see this is a pocket card.  After cutting the card base, I lined up the upper left hand corner at the 4-1/2" mark on my Simply Scored and the opposite corner at 1-1/2" mark and cut the angle for the pocket.  I then scor...
