Christmas in July with the Heartwarming Hugs Suite!

(See my second video, "Heartwarming Hugs Cup Wrap die tips" where I show how the small scallop dies are intended to be used)

When I opened the first few pages of the new August - December Mini catalog I fell in LOVE!  On pages 8-11 is the object of my heart's desire, so to speak.  A new suite of products called the "Heartwarming Hugs".

Today I'm featuring one of the fun products from this suite, the Mini Coffee Carrier and Mini Coffee Cups.

As a crafter as well as a cardmaker I love the Mini Coffee Carrier and cups offered in the suite.  I there's no way I could wait until the weather cools to play with this suite.
You can order the coffee cup carrier and the cups separately, if you choose to, but they are a part of the suite. To get the whole suite of products you only need to enter one item number #155106.  How nice is that!

The carriers come 8 to a package and as do the cups.  So, to complete eight carriers, with cups,  you will need to order an extra package of the cups. You can fill them with your favorite items to share, candy, homemade cocoa, K-Pods, the sky is the limit! These make great gifts for friends, family, coworkers, teachers, well you get the idea.

I love EVERYTHING in this suite, from the DSP, stamp sets and dies to the embellishments. The Warm Hugs stamp set is also bundled with the Warm Wraps dies, if you choose to go that way.  That item number is #155145.

Join me in my video below as I walk through the trials and errors of test driving these products.  I made a few goofs, found out a few things and hopefully these will steer you away from the same faux pas and spur your creative juices. I hope you will share photos of your creations with me and my friends on my Facebook Group page: Cottage Lane Stamper & Friends.

Below are the supplies and item numbers I used.  You'll have to put up with my photos of the products, since I can't share the official photos until the catalog goes live on August 4th

"So Hoppy Together" Quick and Easy Gift Card

It's my middle grandson's birthday next week and I wanted to make a card to hold his gift card.  My first idea has been put on hold for another day.  I thought I had the stamp set I intended to use, but apparently, I only "thought" about buying the set.

I saw this card on Pinterest by Lisa Freeman, I've CASE'd it pretty much verbatim, with the exception of adding a gift card pocket.  I didn't see the dimensions so I guessed :-) .  The Starburst circle punch that I used for the black background on the flap, is retired.  Sorry!!!

This card is so easy to put together.  You can make it with whatever supplies you have on hand, except maybe the googly eyes.  :-).  I think I picked mine up at Walmart or one of the craft stores.

SUPPLIES & MEASUREMENTS:

Whisper White cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4" (inside right), 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" (inside left)
Granny Apple Green cardstock: 7-3/4" x 5-1/2" scored at 3-1/2; 2" x 5-1/4", scored at 1/2" for banner flap; 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" (card pocket)
DSP: 3-1/4" x 2-1/8" (pocket); 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" (front)

Jar of Flowers: Pinewood Planks Embossing on stamped image

I love the rustic look of the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  It's reminiscent to me of barnwood.  I paired this embossing folder with the sunflowers from the Jar of Flowers stamp set, from the 2020 - 2021 Annual catalog.

This is a simple card, easy to make, if you don't mind a little fussy cutting.  I'm not very good at it, so my ScanNCut, by Brother©, comes in handy for this.

The image is stamped in Early Espresso and colored with the Mango Melody, Soft Suede and Old Olive Stampin' Blends©.

One image is stamped on the Whisper White cardstock and colored and then run through the embossing machine with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  The second image is stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White and then fussy cut or, in my case, cut with the ScanNCut.  Love how it gives a die cut look.  Then popped up with some Dimensionals.

The back layer is Crushed Curry and the sentiment, from Pretty Parasols, is stamped in Early Espresson on a scrap of Whisper White and then hand cut into a banner, with Dimensionals on the back.

VIDEO:

The card was embellished with some retired epoxy dots, that look like drops of dew.

Dimensions:
Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" scored at 4-1/4", 4" x 5-1/4", two scrap pieces for banner and second image, that is fussy cut.
Crushed Curry: 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"

"Jar of Flowers" Birthday card and "In Good Taste"

Stampin' Up! debuted another mason/fruit jar stamp set.  This one is bundled with a Jar punch instead of the dies.  It is also a little smaller.  This stamp set also features something new, in the last couple years, reversible stamps!

Both the jars and the border are reversible, so your stamps do double duty!  Love that you can give a water look to your stamped image.

I paired this with the "In Good Taste" DSP from the 2020 - 2021 Annual catalog.  LOVE this DSP!!!!  Stampin' Up! conceptual artists took photos of actual tiles, textures and fabrics and created DSP with them.

I envision this jar sitting on a kitchen counter, with a happy birthday note!

I used my ScanNCut machine by Brother© to cut out the flowers, or you can fussy cut them.

The dimensions are:
Whisper White: 8-1/2" x 11", scored at 4-1/4", 3" x 4" for jar and a scrap for the flowers and sentiment
Balmy Blue: 4" x 5-1/4" and scrap for sentiment
In Good Taste DSP: 3-3/4" x 4" and 3-3/4" x 1-1/2"
