Stampin' Up! New and Improved Stamp Pads featuring the 2018-2020 In Colors

Stampin' Up!® redesigned their stamp pads.  Why? The manufacturing mold was about to expire.  So they decided to replace the mold and redesign it at the same time, making some wonderful improvements.  Here's what they look like!

What's better?

• It's easier to open. Just flip it open slide it back and voilà that's it! 
• There is a tighter fit between the cover and the base and (best of all) the lid doesn't accidently become disconnected.  How many have run into this problem?  I know I have and ended up with ink all over my hands. (Well let's be honest I end up with ink on my hands when I stamp but this is a lot more.  Hahaha!)
• They are stackable.  They have little nubs on the bottom corners of the case and little dimple on the top corners of the case that fit together, so they are easier to transport.
• They have a whole blank colored label (located on the bottom) to peel off and insert into the case.  Much easier to distinguish colors that are similar when you are working with them. 
• The color swatch on the lid is much larger, it also says "In Color" in a little square on the top. 
• A defoamer has been added to the ink, to help reduce bubbles, get a smoother coating of ink on the stamp and helps to lay the ink down better.

 

All the Classic stamp pads and reinkers will have the new formula.  You can use an old ink refill on a new pad or new ink refill on and old pad.  EXCEPT the Basic Gray Archival and Black Archival.  These should not be mixed.  The Black Archival and Basic Gray archival are being discontinued.  These will be replaced in the catalog with Mememto Black (to use with the Stampin' Blends) , Stazon (for Window Sheets).  The new Basic Gray will be in the new formula in a Classic stamp pad.
