Carols of Christmas - Sneak Peak

I know, it's still summer but we in the crafting world like to get  a jump on our Christmas card making.  Don't we?

Stampin' Up! has let us get an early sneak peak at one of the sets that is coming out in the Holiday Catalog that will go live September 1.  If you are one of my customers you should be getting your catalog in mid to late August.
The set is called Carols of Christmas.

It is a beautiful set with large sentiments that can become the focus of the card.  It is bundled with Card Front Builder Thinlits that can be used with the stamp set or all alone.  Simply gorgeous!  Love all the options that these two set offer.

Here are a few cards that I made with these two sets.

L
This first card is a photo card. The green base with the photo uses the frame pieces. The vellum is stamped and heat embossed in gold.  I love the gold embossing!

This second card is heat embossed with silver on Night of Navy.  I used the poinsettia Framelits to die the top layer. There is a layer of silver glimmer paper underneath the top layer and I used some retired SAB silver and white ribbon.

This third card uses the border Framelits.  I made a little faux pas and stamped and embossed first.  When I went to cut it, i cut out part of my stamped image at the top.  The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in gold embossing powder.  The ornaments are also heat embossed, but please don't tell anyone, I used non-SU colors.  Stampin' Up! does not have red, blue or green.  Shhhh!

This fourth card uses Real Red and Garden Green.  The DSP is retired paper from last Christmas.  I stamped the sentiment in red and then also stamped again in Garden Green and punched out "The" with my classic label punch.  The little holly leaves were stamped by coloring my stamp with my Stampin' Write markers.  Again I used a little retired ribbon from the 2017 SAB.

L
This fifth card is made with Garden Green and Whisper White.  After die cutting the stars and moon I put a layer of Silver Glimmer paper underneath.  The trees and the deer are die cut as well.  The deer is stamped in Soft Suede.

This sixth and final card is probably my favorite, (aside from the one with my grandsons). The circle was cut with the largest circle from the Layering Circle Framelits (which I have lost in my craft room somewhere!  Grrr).  I then did a wash on Shimmer paper with Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede to give an earth and sky effect.

There is half of a doily and some gold metallic thread.  I cut the trees from Whisper White and then did a wash with them with Wink of Stella.

I hope you enjoy these ideas!

Let me know which is your favorite!

Those who leave comment here or on my FB page will be entered in a drawing for July!
