Celebrating You

Image
Last night I went to my monthly Stampin' Up class with my upline, Candy.  We usually make 4 cards but since we didn't meet in December we are making up for that month and made 6 cards in about 1-1/2 hours.  Can you believe that?  Over t he next few days I'll be sharing with you the cards that we made.  I think they are all adorable. (the paperclip is not part of the card, I did that so it would stay closed while I took a photo of it.) Along with the  "Remembering Your Birthday"  stamp set, from our Annual catalog we used the "Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper".   We used two of the paper designs for this card. Don't the ice cream cones look adorable.    The base card is Red Rose, and the embellishments are silver glitter ribbon and small "Metallic Foil Doilies" . The sentiment is stamped in "Mint Macaron" on Whisper White cardstock.   The left side, card base is 6-1/4" ...

"There's Always Time for Tea"

Image
Do you ever have an idea and when you start working on it become unsure of if it will work?  That was today.    I wanted the background layer to look like a homespun table cloth that I have.    First I cut a sheet of Pool Party Card stock in half to make a A2 size card.  Then scored it in half with the scoring blade on my Stampin' Up paper trimmer.   I took a piece of white card stock and cut it 4" x 5.25" . With the remainder of the Pool Party card stock I cut 7 strips 5.25" long and 1/8" wide and 5 strips 4" long and 1/8" wide .      TIP: I love the Stampin' Up Paper Trimmer because it has measurements on the right side of the cutter, which makes this much easier to cut smaller strips of paper.   I  wove the horizontal strips with the vertical strips after securing the horizontal strips with glue dots on both ends. I secured the long strip with a glue dot after it wa...

"Tea Time"

Image
I love this bundle from the Stampin' Up 2016 Occasions Catalog .  I fell in love with it from the minute I saw it and couldn't wait to get it and use it.   The stamp set is "A Nice Cuppa" and the Framelit set is "Cups and Kettles".  I bought the bundle, which saves you 15% on both.   The matching paper (DSP designer series paper) is " Have a Cuppa " stack.   This is my first card from it. The base of the card is "Melon Mambo " card stock and the background layer is some DSP that I have from last  year that went with the "Painted Petals " stamp set.  I sponged it with some " Melon Mambo" ink. I used the tea cup framelit and cut out the tea cup and then used the bottom of the tea cup and cut a sliver out of white and attached it with a glue dot to the bottom of the back of the tea cup.. For the saucer I used the Large Oval punch. It was calling out for some silverware and a newspaper. So I cut out a s...
