Card Layout Challenge for May 29, 2020

Image
I don't know about your but I always need ideas for new cards, so I thought I'd post a card challenge every Friday. This is the layout for the first week.   The blue layer is 2" x 5", the yellow is 3.5" x 2.25" and  the purple layer is 2.25" x 2. 25" Use whatever papers, colors, stamp sets or dies. The card just has to have these dimensions. The card base is our standard A2 size, 5.50 x 4.25. I also wanted to share my version of the Challenge Card. I used the stamp set and DSP from the Dressed To Impress Suite .  The suite is available until June 2, 2020.  After that the stamp set and dies will be available in the new 2020 - 2021 catalog but not bundled.  So still time to get this whole suite and save some money! Looking forward to seeing your Challenge Card ideas on my Facebook Group Page: Cottage Lane Stamper & Friends .

Lovely Label Pick A Punch! Finally!

Image
The new 2020 - 2021 catalog debuts next Wednesday, June 3, 2020.  I'm so thrilled!  One of my favorite things in the catalog is this new punch!  The "Lovely Label Pick A Punch" I have been waiting for something like this for a long, long time!  What I love about it is that you can select the length of your banner and also the width.  We do have something like this in the current catalog, the Triple Banner Punch.  Which I use a lot but sometime you want something a little fancier. Triple Banner Punch #138292  This new punch has two different patterns for the ends.  Which I love and you can punch a label from one of the smaller two designs to layer with the larger two designs!  You could also use it to make tags!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS NEW PUNCH!  This punch is going to used a lot in my classes and for my personal projects. Thank you Stampin' Up!© Hope you love it too!  You can get yours June 3, 2020! ...

Embossing Folder Tips: What plate to use with which folder

Image
I've some exciting news to share!  Stampin' Up!® is coming out with not one but TWO new die cutting machines.  I can't share them yet, but they will be available later on in June.  But you are going to love, love, love them! In the meantime, I wanted to give you a couple tips on using your embossing folders with your die cutting machine.  Now I use a Big Shot, which is no longer available from Stampin' Up! So you may need to use a shim or two if you have a different machine. The standard embossing folders have been around for a long time.  It may look something like this: This embossing folder is a typical thickness and for this type of folder you would use your platform plate with one clear plate below the folder and one above.  So your sandwich would be, from bottom to top: Platform plate Clear plate Embossing Folder Clear plate. This 3D embossing folder is one that you may have, it is retired, but was sold by Stampin' Up! and manufactur...

"Under My Umbrella" Diagonal Accordion Fun Fold

Image
Today I wanted to try a new fun fold that I saw on our CEO's Facebook page, Sara Douglass.  Sara's daughter Shelby put this together on their family crafting day.  I thought I'd try it with our "Under My Umbrella" stamp set and coordinating punch "Umbrella Builder". It would make a cute gift as it is or with some photos. I'm not sure what the fold is called so I'm calling it a Diagonal Accordion.  If you know what the correct name is for it, let me know. The sentiments from this set are so appropriate for our times right now during the Covid19 self isolation period.  It opens up diagonally with four panels for photos or in my case I used 4 sheets of "Best Dressed" DSP from our 2020 January - June Mini Catalog.  I love this DSP!  It's hard not to hoard it!  You could also use it as a journal writing your thoughts in the opposite squares.  It should fit in an A2 envelope but extra postage will be needed because it...
