Gosh I can't believe it's been a month since I've last posted! I've been busy preparing for 3 craft fairs this fall.
I fell in love with this bundle since I saw it in the 2017 Holiday catalog. I love sets where I can create a scene. I CASE'd this card from Jackie Aitkin. It's going to be one of the cards that we will be doing in class next week.
I used three different Thinlit sets to make this card and the sentiment is from the retired Wonderland stamp set from last year. It's one of my favs to I am holding on to it.
Normally I don't preview the class cards, but I couldn't wait to make and share this card.
Here's a video:
The card base is Whisper White (8-1/2" x 5-1/2"). On top of that is some DSP from Bundle of Love series (4-1/4" x 5-1/2"). Then to mute the Very Vanilla, there is a layer of Vellum card stock on top of that (4-1/4" x 5-1/2"). Using white against and ivory color will make the ivory look dirty, so I try never to use them together. Same with black and Navy blue, but for different reason. I digress.
I attached the vellum to the DSP with glue dots in the corners, they are less noticeable than using glue or Snail.
The snow is cut freehand from some Whisper White.
The lamppost and the lamp are cut from Basic Black. Behind the lamp is gold foil. When I opened the Thinlits for the first time I had no idea what this was for:
It looked like little flower pots to me! Thankfully I saw someone who made this card and "enlightened" me. :-) and discovered it is to make the light in the lamp when cut out of a yellow or in this case gold. What is nice is that it cuts three at a time for the three lamps, if you decide to use all three. The other two will be used in next week's class.
The wreath was stamped with the little berries stamp, using Versa Mark and then embossed with gold embossing powder. Then cut out with the Thinlit. It looks so elegant.
The wreath is embellished with gold and white 1/8" Metallic ribbon. Behind the ribbon are two fronds cut using the dies from the Christmas Staircase Thinlits.
The deer and the star are cut from gold foil using the Santa's Sleigh Thinlit set. I didn't think of it or I would have used Dimensionals for the deer. I used glue dots, this time.
Hope you like this card! The supplies are listed below and can be purchased from my store:
